Lee M. Mandel, M.D., J.D., F.A.C.S., F.A.R.S. is a double board-certified ear, nose, and throat surgeon and a nationally recognized leader in minimally invasive, in-office treatments for chronic sinusitis, nasal obstruction, snoring, and obstructive sleep apnea. As Founder and Managing Member of Florida Sinus & Snoring Specialists, with offices in Fort Lauderdale and Plantation, Florida, Dr. Mandel has helped thousands of patients across Broward County and South Florida breathe better, sleep better, and avoid the hospital operating room.

Dr. Mandel’s practice is built around a simple idea: most sinus, nasal, and snoring problems can be solved in a single office visit, under local anesthesia, with patients home the same day and back to work the next. He performs the full range of office-based procedures, including balloon sinuplasty, turbinate reduction, in-office septoplasty, posterior nasal nerve ablation (for chronic runny nose and post-nasal drip), nasal valve repair, and the latest device-based treatments for snoring and obstructive sleep apnea — all using techniques that prioritize comfort, safety, and rapid recovery.

Education and Training Dr. Mandel graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Florida and earned his medical degree in the top five of his class, where he was elected President of Alpha Omega Alpha, the national medical honor society. He completed his residency in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and was selected for a competitive fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He later earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Syracuse University College of Law — a credential he draws on to navigate the increasingly complex regulatory, insurance, and policy environment that shapes modern patient care.

National Leadership Dr. Mandel is a past President of the Florida Society of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery and currently serves on two national committees of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery: the Rhinology and Paranasal Sinus Committee and the Rhinology and Allergy Education Committee. He is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, the American Rhinologic Society, and the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and is a frequent national speaker on office-based sinus and sleep procedures, practice innovation, and healthcare policy.

Beyond the Practice Dr. Mandel and his wife, Brigitte, are longtime supporters of the arts in South Florida and are benefactors of the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. They live in Broward County with their family.
